The Manhattans

My curiosity on an alternate take of "I'm The One Love Forgot" finally got the best of me and I recently pick this one up. Very disappointing to find out it is the same track just sped up. A shame these guys put such a track on their compilation. Highlights are well know so I will skip that.

Mitty Collier

Title track "Sharing You" is the reason I purchased this CD. The rest of the material has a slow, bluesy sound that most ballad seekers might not care for. Sound quality varies.

The Very Best Of Doo Wop Rarities

"True Lovers" by The Four Chaps and "You Can't Even Be My Friend" by The Escorts are by far the best ballads on this compilation.

East Coast - West Coast Vol. 1

Killer tune in "Weeping Over You" by The Don Juans alone makes this a recommended pick up for the Doo Wop fans. Other notable tracks include the classic "I" by Charles  Sampson & The Velvets, "The Eyes Of An Angel" by The Legends, "Sindy" by Otis Lee & The Cobras and "Do Not Forsake Me" by Donald Cook & The Young Hears. Sound quality varies but still very decent.

The 5 Discs

"There Was The Time" is a solid ballad that made this pick up well worth it for me. Balance of material has a more mainstream, pop sound. Very good sound quality

Battle of The Groups

Pretty standard Doo Wop tracks but The Dubs, The Chantels, The Isley Brothers, The Flamingos and other staples of the End Records label.

The Olympics Meet The Marathons

"Stay Where You Are" is the sole ballad on this compilation. If you like the upbeat stuff then it might be a good pick up for you.

Aladdin & Imperial R&B Vocal Group Magic

Impressive collection of tracks that showcase two legendary labels. Highlight include "Tell Me" by The Lovers", "I Do Believe" by The Crystals, "Drip Drop" by The Dodgers, "Along My Lonely Way" by The Utopians, "So Long, My Darling" by The Barons, "The Wrong Girl" by The Symbols, "My Plea" by Eloise Brooks & The Dreamers, "Darling Please" by The Bees and "I'll Be Loving You" by The Saratogas. Solid sound quality. Best left to the hardcore early R&B fans,
