I did not expect much when I picked up this CD. The main reason was for their cover of "We Belong Together". The other covers were not as good as I had hoped for.

This one hit group cut a few nice ballads that get little to no play time. Highlights include "What's The Use", "Don't Put Me Down" and "You Can't Get Away".

The tracks are a bit too much on the pop side for my tastes. Another buy for the collection more than anything else for me.

When Planets Collide

It is a mystery to me how a compilation on Planet Records can be released without one of the most memorable Doo Wop tracks of all time, "There's A Moon Out Tonight" by The Capris. Notable ballads are few, "That's Why I Cry" by The Castaleers and "I'll Never Tell" by Tony And The Day Dreams.

Sounds Of The City

Only a couple tracks really caught my attention on this CD. "We Have It Made" by Earl & Jimmy And The Salesmen and "We Walked Down The Aisle" by Mary Hyler And Group. There are other ballads but these to me were the strongest.

Felsted Vocal Groups

Nice collection with some good and rare Doo Wop ballads. Highlights include "The Girl That I Marry" by The Camerons, "Need You So" by The Casual Teens, "Who Would Have Thought"  by The Deltairs, and "Tired Of Being Alone" by Marvin & Johnny. A good pick up for the Doo Wop fan.

* New * Rare Gangster Doo Wop Rolas Vol. 3

A bit surprised at the packaging of this CD. The first two volumes were professionally printed while this one is a real low budget (homemade?) job.
The tracks are solid but nearly all are available on other releases. A few mistakes on artists listed. The sound quality varies. Towards the end there are some tracks that touch more on the blues side than Doo Wop. It ends with a couple of upbeat tracks.

Unforgettable Doo Wops

Highly recommended Doo Wop compilation. Highlights include "I Need Your Love" by The Enchanters, "Let Me Go" by The Harmonics, "I Love You" by The Gales, "If You Love Me" by The Informers and "I'll Take A Chance On You" by The Inspirations. I dropped the score by one as many tracks are repeats.

Boulevard Nights

Volume one of this set is made up of all standard soul tracks many of us are very used to. The second volume contains more obscure tracks. The gem for me is "Unlucky Girl" by Carol Hughes which is not widely available on CD. The sound quality varies on volume 2 and they could have used a double check prior to printing as there are many mistakes on the track list.
