Only a few highlights for me on this two disc release. "Without Your Love" by The Five Jades, "Come On Home Baby" by Big Jay Bush, and "Don't Let It Get You Down" by Ike Perry And His Lyrics. If you dig deep soul and blues this one is for you.

Mississippi Doo Wop

Light on packaging and even lighter on the track count. A couple of solid tracks by The Caprees made this one a must for me. The tracks by The Carvettes are also decent.

Another sweet soul packed monster of a compilation from Lynwood Soul's incredible vinyl record collection. This guy does his homework and puts together comps with rare tracks that will even surprise the seasoned collector. Tight soul ballads by The Deltones Ltd., Vass Corp., The Soul Walkers, The Velons and others. Sound quality varies as all tracks are straight from vinyl sources. A must have for any serious soul harmony aficionado.

Three solid Doo Wop cuts make this a good addition to your music library. All highlights are by The Elgins, "Extra! Extra", "My Illness" and "Lonely Hearts Club" which was recorded under the name The Elements.

Highlights include "My Heart's Desire" and "Scheming" by Wanda Burt & The Crescendos, "I Feel So Blue" by The Italics, "I'm Waiting" by The Fantastics, "A Man That Is Not Free" by The Soul Sensations, "Tell Me Darling" by The Gaylarks and "From The Bottom Of My Heart" by Leon Pryor.

Early R&B sounds out of the San Francisco bay area that like the Flash Records compilation brings to light long lost cuts known only to the hardcore collectors. Highlights include "Your True Love Is Standing by" by Wanda Burt And The Crescendos, "All The Days Of My Life" by The Chantels (male group), "There's A Girl" by The Italics and "Your Eyes" by The Echotones.

The Flash Records Story

Early R&B from Los Angeles with a heavy blues influence. I did not care much for the first disc. On the second disc there are a few nice cuts by The Cubans, "Don't Go Baby", "Can't You See" and "Tell Me (Will You Ever be Mine)". Top notch sound quality and plenty of liner notes.
