Some nice obscure Doo Wop ballads such as "In The Night" by the Fortunes, "I Need You My Dear" by The Fabulous Flames, "Your Are Irresistible" by The Medallions, "Pains In My Heart" by The Enchantments, "Forever Yours" by The Pentagons, "Come Home Girl" by The Empires, "My Turn" by The Servicemen" and "(La La) I Love You" by The Caesars. A solid pick up.

Highlights here are "Do Me A Favor" by Betty Watts & Watts, "Love Is True" by The Five Chestnuts, "Is This The End" by The Baby Dolls and "Tell Me Why" by The Walcoes. This one will not be a good fit for most soul oldies fans.

Mainly upbeat numbers but still had to pick up since I enjoy playing "Love Me Sincerely". Unfortunately, no other tracks comes close. "Terrific Together", "I'll Never Be Free" and their take on "Over the Mountain, Across The Sea" are decent tracks too.

The Roomates Also Starring Cathy Jean

Too much pop sound for me to recommend this one. Highlights include tracks "Please Love Me Forever" and "Turn Me Loose" featuring Cathy Jean. A good pick up for those that like the sounds of similar artists such as the Four Seasons.

The Keynotes

Only "Suddenly" might get some play time among the west coast lowrider crowds. The rest of the material us upbeat or even a little too slow for my tastes. Sound quality is good, if you dig this mid 50's NY group.

The Jive Bombers

Odd ball CD that comes up once in a while. Their claim to fame came with "Bad Boy" which they originally recorded as "Brown Boy" under the name Al Sears And the Sparrows and originally recorded as "Brown Gal" by Lil' Hardin Armstrong in the late 1930's. "Cherry" is a also a nice track that jumps on the fame of the title track. A good one to have for historical purposes but, best left for hardcore early 50's R&B fans.

Standard tracks by The Charts, Jackie & The Starlites, The Paragons and others. A nice comp for one starting a collection or the casual oldies fan.

Hal Davis

A few nice ballads in this collection highlighted by his take on "Once Upon A Time". Other note worthy tracks include "Merchant Of Love", "Sweet And Lovely" and "What Do You Mean To Me". This one will be best appreciated by early R&B fans. Sound quality overall is good.

Lonely Doo-Wops

Lots of pop sounds with only a few really good tracks that are more in line with the sounds of the low-rider crowds. Highlights include "Lonely Heart" by The Enchanters, "Lonely Heart" by The Majestics, "Lonely Girl" by Anne Keith, "So Lonely" by The Fabulous Pearl Devines, "Lonely Guy" by The Dwellers and "Lonely Girl" by Gloria Knight. Not the greatest Doo Wop comp out there but still worth the pick up.

Donnie Elbert

One of the harder to find Donnie Elbert CD's, at least for a decent price. Ranges from under $20 to over $400. Killer tracks in "Who's It Gonna Be" and "Never Again". The instrumental "Down Home Blues" also deserves a mention. Very good sound quality.
