Impalaville

Rare and hard to find, long out of print CD put together in NYC with the west coast lowrider crowd in mind. Pretty much all standard tracks with that homeboy dedications theme going on. Sorry for the writing on the covers but was asked to mark to discourage certain individuals from copying.

Sweet Soul Baby

A straight killer sweet soul line up on this first volume. I thought I was getting a real treat until I played it. Sounds is flat, just like listening to MP3 rips which really drag down the whole CD. A little more care would have made this an outstanding compilation. I an not a fan of the MP3 format therefore can't recommend this one. There is a volume 2 but that is solely available for download.

Ramona King

Two strong ballads in this release, "Dream On" with Cleo King and "It's You That I Want". Overall the sound quality leaves much to be desired.

USA Records The Early Years

The Belgianettes' "You're Far From Home" has the main reason for this pick up. Other notable tracks include "When We Meet Again" by Lou Washington & Group, "A Small Silver Ring" by The Vandels and "So Long" by Al Perkins. The rest of the material is mainly mainstream pop. Sound quality varies.

Doo Wop Serenade

Odd ball compilation that has a real flea market special feel to it. Very nice ballads by The Gardenias, The Jaytones, The Tru Tones, Peaches & Herb, The Sunsiers, The Resonics, Ann Fleming, The Del Larks, The Shondells, The Poets and The Ultimations. Sound quality varies.
