Rare soul by Los Angeles area artists. This compilation will not disappoint. Being that it is a Kent / Ace release you get plenty of liner notes and excellent sound quality. The Larks, Toni & The Showmen, Gwenn Stewart and M-M's & The Peanuts highlight this collection. Volume 3 has a very nice ballad, "Hard Times Are Coming" by and unknown duo plus it contains the cleanest recording that I have ever heard on one of my favorite oldies, "Open Up Your Eyes".
