Rayfield Reid & The Magnificents / The Fabulous Waller Family

I nearly fell over when I spotted this one. It pays off to shop the small, independent record stores. Sadly, with many folks now opting for cheaper MP3 files these stores are quickly shutting down. MP3 can't compare with the sound a CD or vinyl record offers, any true collector will tell you the same. Highlights here are "Treat You Right", "I Ain't Gonna Quit" and "Our Alibi" by Rayfield Reid & The Magnificents. The Fabulous Waller Family gives us "How Long Will I Be A Fool?" "I Love You So" and "Without You Tonight".

* NEW * Shady Side Of Town Chapter Three

These guys really went deep into the vault to bring to light some of the rarest lost soul gems out there. Highlights include "I Can't Make You Stay" by The Loveletts, "Yes I'm Ready" by The Sounds Of Soul, "Wake Up Girl" by Image and "Love Foundation" by Peace On Earth. Sound quality varies as expected on rare vinyl compilations. I have to kick the rating down one due to repeats but still highly recommend picking this one up.

Haze

The "Time Won't Change Our Minds" CD is the same, but with less tracks, as the Resurrection CD which I posted earlier. On the "MidWestEast" release the highlights are "Weekend Lover" and "I'm In Love"

A killer soul jam here in "Don't Worry About The Jones". Other notable tracks include "Try Me Baby", "Cry Sugar" and "You And Me". If you like late 70's soul ballads this will be a very good pick up.

Moses Dillard & The Tex-Town Display

Here is one of those long lost soul groups that only the hardcore fans seem to know of. Highlight is "Won't Somebody Help Me" while "Bring Your Dreams To Me" is decent.
