"Sweetheart Of Mine" for me is the brightest spot on the CD. The other tracks like "Don't Say Goodnight" and "Why" are decent. Another one to leave to the dedicated Doo Wop fans to truly appreciate.

"Gee Whiz (Look At His Eyes)" by Carla Thomas is the best track on this CD. Best off picking that up on the many other releases out there.

This is the second release of 2 Firme. They changed the cover but tracks are the same and all repeats. Sound quality varies. A nice starter for those on a budget.

Charlie And Inez Foxx

Iconic "Mockingbird" R&B tune taken from a nursery rhyme cemented these siblings in musical history. No strong ballad that would have me telling you to pick up a copy.

Deon Jackson

"Hush Little Baby" sounded very nice until I picked this up and listened a few times to it. It is decent but not as good as the first time I heard it. The rest is pop / northern soul that I could do without.

Jermaine Jackson

A very good cover of "Daddy's Home" by the co-lead singer of one of the best known musical families. "You're In Good Hands" is also a good track but after that the sounds are just not for me. I am not a big fan of music recorded in the 80's.

Ronnie Dyson

At the time of this release Collectables Records was on a roll bringing full releases on such acts as The Ethics, Black Ivory, Soul Generation, Lee Williams And The Cymbals to CD for the first time. This one here for me was a gamble that I lost. The music has more of a mainstream pop feel than the sweet soul that they were showcasing on other releases.

Here is one I bought just to say I have it. I hit the skip button very often until I got to "I'm Not The Kind Of Girl". By far the best track for me as the rest is mainstream pop.

Underground Monster Doo Wop Volume 1

Doo Wop has been pushed off to the back burner as the emphasis among most west coast collectors has been on soul. For me it is a much appreciated surprise to see someone take a step back and shine the spot light on what would evolve into soul, Doo Wop. This release is packed with not so common tracks and others that only the hardcore Doo Wop fans will recognize. Highlights include tracks by The Leaping Flames, Donnie Elbert, James Lee Washington, Marie And The Deccors, The Del-Rios, Gino & Vocal Group, Paul And Dale and Robert And Bobby. Standouts for me here are "Give Up" and "How Can I Get In Touch With You" by The R.D.M. Band. Also worth a mention is the upbeat jam "Take These Memories" by The Creations. Good sound quality.
